Leave Sofia early with an English-speaking mountain leader such as Velko, Alex, Daniel, or Kiril. Ride a chairlift above the pine forest, snowshoe toward the Kidney Lake, then soak in Sapareva Banya’s thermal pools. Weather may change the route.

Leave Sofia early with an English-speaking mountain leader, ride a chairlift to 2,150 meters, and snowshoe toward the Kidney lake with poles and gear supplied. After about 2.5 hours on the trail, return to Sapareva Banya for mineral-water baths. Lift and spa fees cost extra.

Leave Sofia at 8:00 am for Aleko resort, then snowshoe through Vitosha’s winter forests and open slopes to Cherni Vrah, the 2,290-meter Black Peak. Your private English-speaking guide provides snowshoes, poles, transport, and hot tea. Bring sturdy boots, lunch, water, and warm layers.
